2008
Here we are again in 2008… saving money and preparing for a journey to Asia. Fortunately we already got our plane tickets and are leaving for Thailand, the Land of Smile, in the beginning of November. This year we only managed to go for a short trip to Egypt and a shame to mention but it was a trip fully organized by a travel agent. Well, we have been working a lot this year and just needed to switch off and let somebody organize our journey but we should get more creative and self-dependent in Asia. Almost half a year at Dada’s farm meant not only work but great time in a spiritual environment and the following several weeks in Klesnik with our white furry friend were very precious and relaxing so now we are ready to start backpacking in Asia soon.
2007
Year 2007 was exiting! In the beginning of February we were finally ready to leave Ireland and start our long awaited journey. Travelling in Europe in late winter would mean taking lots of warm cloths, boots, winter jackets, scarfs… To avoid this and travel with a light pack we started further south – in North Africa, in Morocco. There we stayed for three months. As it was getting warmer in Europe we started travelling north to Spain. First we stayed at the south coast of Spain and then hitchhiked north with stops in Malaga, Granada, Barcelona till we reached France. We saw Bernd in Lyon and visited Anne-Kathrin in Provence. Getting tired with travelling we rushed through Germany and reached the cozy lake house in Klesnik for one month to charge up our batteries. In September Zo jobbed for two months as a teacher while Steven was exploring the endless realms of the Internet. Dazed by the seemingly lucrative business opportunity we canceled our tickets to Asia scheduled for December and decided to stay in Germany and start a company. Well, that was a bad idea.
2004-2006
Zoe’s Gallery 2004-2006: “After finishing my school I was more than happy to ditch my job and pack my backpack and start travelling. I spent the whole year living at organic yoga farms in Czech Republic and Poland as well as gypsying around Europe, going to festivals and having fun. 2005 I had to refill my bank account so I got a three month teaching contract and afterwards left for the US. I met many beautiful people and got some insight into Buddha’s teachings at the Nyingma Institute in Berkeley, where I spent over 3 months. I stayed only a very short time in the plastic-y Los Angeles and much longer in the amazing city of San Francisco and finally went to the Solar Living Institute in Hopland to meet my favourite travel companion. Steven couldn’t join me for travels yet but we promised each other to come together soon… so I went on and spent three unforgettable months backpacking in India and Nepal. 2006 I lived in the overcrowded capital of Ireland working and waiting for Steven to finally cross the ocean so we can start our travels.”
